EUP to be put into effect

According to Yiwu Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, EUP (Eco-design of Energy Using Products) will be put into effect from August,2007. EUP has eco-design requirements on the designing, manufacturing, maintaining, recycling and handling of all electric appliances, thus to urge manufacturers to adopt advanced ecodesign technology to produce energy using products. It encourages manufacturers to minimize the use of some pollution-making materials and minimize emissions to the environment, thus to reduce the harm to the environment and protect natural resources.
