On Nov.20, the main building of the joint project of Yiwu Library and Yiwu Archives was completed as planned.
It is learned that it is the first of the several projects included in the Yiwu international cultural center. With the total investment of 180 million yuan, the project covers an area of 40,000 square meters. The project was commenced on August 30, 2006 and was completed as planned after more than 300 days of hard work.
As one of the few modern and nonprofitable facilities in Zhejiang province, the new library is said to have the capacity of 1 million books and the archives 500,000 files of various kinds.
