News from Yiwu Administration for Industry and Commerce says that China Commodity City (CCC) which is the official name of Yiwu market, reaached a transaction volume of 34.837 billion yuan in 2007, an increase of 10.58% over the previous year.
Up to present, foreign enterprises have set up more than 1,288 offices in Yiwu and Yiwu has become No.1 county-level city with the largest number of foreign offices. Yiwu reached a total self-export volume of USD1.495 billion during the first ten moths of 2007, of which export volume USD1.386 billion, exported to 188 countries and regions.
The 2007 Yiwu Fair achieved a transaction volume of 10.89 billion yuan. It is the third largest export products exhibition only after Canton Fair and East China Fair and is the Largest-scaled, the most influential, and the efficient commodities fair.
Shopping tourism is another booster of Yiwu's commercial prosperity. There is the complete shopping tour service system consisting of the China Commodity City Shopping Tourism Center, the International Trade City Shopping Tourism Section(the only National AAAA Tourism Spot in China) and other special markets. In the year 2007, Yiwu received 4.3 million tourists reached 259,000.
Yiwu has become logistics hub in the middle of Zhejiang Province, with freight lines extending to more than 250 large-and-medium-sized domestic cities except Taiwan. With over 5,000 tons of daily cargo throughput, Yiwu has become a "No-waterPort" international logistics center. During the second haof of the year 2007, Yiwu International Logistics Center completed the upgrade of the Second-gen-eration Checking System, shortening nearly 2 hours in custioms clearance. During the single month of November, 2007,Yiwu International Logistics Center handled 276,250 standard containers.
"Yiwu Index" has been functioning as "barometer" and "vane " of commodity trade since its operation 1 year ago. The 5 initially established systems including index system, collecting system, calculation system, analyzing system, and releasing system have become important reference data for the major commodity manufacturing factories and buyers both from home and abroad. E-commerce develops swiftly. Over 1,000 e-commerce websites including Bid8.com and Tradeeasy.com have carried out foreign trade business volume through e-mmerce has risen dramatically. Broadbad users have exceeded 19,000 in the market.
