8-digit telephone number begun in Yiwu on May 19 2007

Since May 19,2007 the fixed line telephone ( including PAS) numbers have risen to 8 digits in Jinhua city and counties ( cities of county level) under its jurisdiction . You only have to add "8" before the former 7-digit telephone numbers without any change for the former special service numbers or short numbers . After May 19 the 7-digit telephone numbers would be out of service with one month's record b roadcast in the local network (May 19 , 2007-June 18 ,2007) ; the long distance domestic telephones with 7 or 8 digits will be still in service for 2 months (May 19,2007-July 18,2007) ; after the two months the record service will be broadcast for 3 months ( July 19-October 18,2007) . The record broadcast about the number rise will be free of charge for both local and out land customers .
