China forest carbon sink pilot project kicks off in Yiwu
The launching ceremony of the pilot project on the trading of forest carbon sink in China was held on the afternoon of November 1 in the press conference hall of Yiwu International Expo Center. 10 enterprises including Alibaba and Geshan Construction singed contracts to buy the first batch of 148,000 tons of forest carbon sink. Meanwhile, Huadong Forestry Exchange and Zhejiang Forestry Petty Loan Co., Ltd were established officially.
It is learned that more than 50 enterprises and persons have intended to buy over 1.2 million tons of forest carbon sink from Huadong Forestry Exchange, which set up its five subsidiaries in Lin'an, Fuyang, Jiande, Yiwu and Yuyao in the ceremony.
