After more than 20 years’development of Yiwu’s PC trade starting from the beginning of 1990s,there are now more than 400 PC dealers in Yiwu. Most of the dealers sell more than 3000 categories of goods such as PC,digital products,OA and related accessories in Yiwu PC Mart,Zhaozhai Specialized Street,Digital World Mart,and the electronic products section in the 2nd phase of Yiwu International Trade City,with the annual turnover more than 1 billion yuan.
In recent years,enterprises and individual business firms build their own websites and 90% of them seek business opportunities through internet. Presently,Yiwu’s per capita GDP is over $8,000,which marks the city as being in the middle or late stage of industrialization and in the critical development stage of the service industry. Therefore,digitalization and informationization on a city-wide basis are a prerequisite for a modernized Yiwu.
