Yiwu’s exhibition economy grows rapidly in 1st half year

It is learned from the yiwu  Meihu Exhibition Center that there were 21 exhibitions in the first half of 2007,of which 8 were scaled over 10,000 square meters .

There were six more exhibitions in the first half of this year than that of corresponding period of last year, i.e. an increase of 40%. The exhibition covered a total area of 870,000 square meters. The turnover of the second cultural industry fair was 1.75 billion yuan with 60% from foreign turnover, which became the only foreign-oriented exhibition in national cultural and sports industry and ranked top in national cultural industry exhibitions in the area of exhibition, the number of exhibition booths and the number of participating enterprises. The Fourth China International Hardware & Electrical Appliance Fair became the leader of hardware exhibitions in China with 1026 booths and 0.985 billion yuan turnover.

It is learned that some famous exhibitions and new ones with potentials were introduced to Meihu Exhibition Center in the first half year such as glasses, auto parts, and electric motor cars motorcycles exhibitions. In March this year Yiwu was granted to hold exhibitions overseas, which was the first time for a county-level city. Now the relevant departments are preparing for the overseas exhibition which will be a good opportunity for Yiwu to develop exhibition industry in full swing.
