A public bicycle initiative is set to be implemented in Yiwu; starting on October 16, 50 bicycle stations will be opened throughout the city, mostly located near subway stations. The hours of operation for these public bicycles will be from 06:00 until 21:00. The use of these bicycles will be interchangeable; patrons may borrow or return bicycles to any station of their choosing. While the cost of using a bicycle for one hour is free, a charge of 1 RMB per hour will be charged if the time of use exceeds this limit (times that do not amount to a full hour will still be counted as such). There is no maximum limit set for how high a fee may range.

When applying for a card in Yiwu, foreigners should bring along a passport with a valid, non-expired visa and be prepared to pay a fee. The fee is in the amount of 300 RMB, 200 RMB of which is a safety deposit which will be returned at the time of returning the card (amount non-transferrable until return of card), 10 RMB is to cover costs, and the remaining 90 RMB is for the personal use of the patron with which to pay for the public bicycles. In case of lost cards in Yiwu, please dial 0579 8550 0777 to report your card as missing.

Locations at which cards may be processed include the service hall at the Chengjian Ziyuan company (80 Gongren West Road), any major branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (the branches of Choujiang, Meiyuan, Guangchang, Shangcheng, Fushang, Gangcheng and also Jinyuan), and the Telecommunications Trade Hall (Binwang, Xinmalu, Chengnan, and the trade hall in Xiuhu Square)
